How to apply for the National Engineering Registration (NER):

You need to go through a five-step process to apply for a NER credential. The steps are below:

Make an account in the EA portal.

Log in and complete the online self-assessment to rate yourself against NER Engineers Australia competencies and apply for NER.

Obtain two relevant referees who must be able to verify your latest work experience.

Have a NER interview with an EA assessor.

Get your outcome notification. If it is a positive one, you will be automatically added to the NER.

If you are an Engineers Australia member, you can also join NER when applying for Chartered status.
