  1. Full Assessment:

You can use the full assessment pathway if you either have a degree level qualification that is management, business or leadership focused and 3 years of work experience in a management role, or you need to have a minimum of 5 years of management experience that is equivalent Level 5 or operational/senior management level if you don’t have a management specific qualification.

  1. Apprenticeship:

You can choose this pathway if you are completing End Point Assessment (EPA) by means of CMI for one of these apprenticeship standards and have related management experience:

Level 5 operations/Department Manager

Level 6 CMDA

Level 7 SLMDA

It is compulsory for you to register for the Chartered Manager status?

No. You don’t need to be registered.

What’s involved and what’s the cost?

The assessment criteria of this status have been built into the CMI assessment at EPA. There are no requirements for extra work or extra cost for the apprentice. In other words:

If you are completing a CMI qualification with the apprenticeship, the status of Chartered Manager will automatically be given when you pass your apprenticeship.

If you have CMI membership support as a part of your EPA package, the credential of CMI Chartered Manager will automatically be awarded to you when passing your apprenticeship.

If completing EPA only (no qualification, no membership support):

You can complete a form to claim your related Chartered status when you pass your apprenticeship.
